It is with a great pleasure that I announce the release of my pet project BillReminder! The road to 0.3 has been a very educational journey for me, and looking back when I first decided to port my original code written in C# to Python just so that I could learn more about Python, I can say that I have learned quite a bit. I have also met some fabulous people along the way, some of them very responsible for me keeping the project going.

Feb 29, 2008PulseAudio + Games and My Five Hundred
Feb 24, 2008Been using PulseAudio for several months now and was extremelly happy with the end result. The ability of controlling the volume for specific applications alone made it very worth the change. But there was one little issue that bothered me a lot: not being able to play my games with support for audio! Back when I started searching for a solution, I didn’t find anything that would resolve this issue and I eventually accepted that as a fact.
Ask and you shall receive
Feb 11, 2008So last night’s post brought me quite a few replies, and I thank you all for taking the time to give me the feedback. I hope to find some time and work on the preferences dialog for BillReminder soon!
On the other front, I received a nice little present from the Openbox guys: a way to inspect and honor files found in /etc/xdg/autostart by default when starting Openbox. Now, I cannot claim that this is a done deal but I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
Dialog remodeling and playing with wbar
Feb 11, 2008I have spent a total of 3 hours working on BillReminder these last 2 weeks! What can I say, sometimes you have to put your pet projects in the back burner while real life takes over. :/
One of the things that annoyed me was the old, cluttered preferences dialog. It was just too bulky and with too many things going on, specially with the ComboBox for selecting the prefered time for an alarm.
Long overdue post \#1
Feb 09, 2008Life has shifted to high gear these last 2 weeks and my time was mostly spent at work, with my kids, and working on a secret project I can’t talk about yet. In the meantime, lots have happened and I just wanted to mention the arrival of my N810 last week! It is shiny! It is cool! It is very useful! I want to thank the Maemo and Nokia guys for this opportunity and hope to deliver some good news about this device soon!
Openbox 3.4.6 and ObConf 2.0.3 released
Feb 02, 2008Read it all here. Hopefully your current GNU/Linux distribution has packaged them by now. Mine has (I did it myself)! :)
