Tar Heel No More
Jul 06, 2005Once again I avoided mentioning about a very serious job lead I had with the University of North Carolina at the Chappel Hill campus, afraid of jinxing myself. Well, today I have finally recieved the final verdict after the 3-weeks long process: they decided to go with a local candidate who had a slight advantage over me (apparently some accounting and project management experience) and had just lost her job. I confess I’m a bit disappointed at the moment for it is the fourth position in a row I was genuinely interested that I see slip through my fingers… I’m going to try to put a positive spin on this and make myself believe that the best is yet to come… Kind of hard to do when you think of the previous chances (Microsoft for instance)… =/
Screenie
Jul 05, 2005Spent some time hacking my new app during the holidays… Also did some tweaking on my laptop… Figured I’d show a screenie here… So, without further ado…
Easy Day
Jul 01, 2005It was a pretty easy day today. Made the best out of my new freedom by listening to Radio Paradise all day along. Also did some serious hacking on my new, upcoming application… Life is good! Looking forward to doing some more hacking over the weekend and BBQ’ing. Will also try to rack up some more levels with my WoW character.
Freed At Last!

Honest or Stupid?
Jun 30, 2005Today I went for a job interview for a company about 35 miles West of where I live. The interview was scheduled for 10am and I was to meet the recruiter outside the building 15 minutes before the scheduled 2 hour ordeal. It took me about 30 minutes to get there and for the next 15 minutes the sales rep gave me a pep talk about the company and position.
Snippet Compiler
Jun 29, 2005I often find myself creating a new .NET project every time I want to try some simple piece of code, which is not only overkill sometimes but also counter productive if you need to sift thorugh the different folders for an specific piece of code… Even when you find it you end up having to create yet another project to test it out. While discussing with a friend about a very annoying Xml Serialization error I was getting at work, I was pointed to Snippet Compiler and a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders!
Epiphany
Jun 23, 2005One other reason why I haven’t been blogging much these days is because I’ve been focusing every little bit of free time I have reading up on business and economics. This must be a shock for those who have known me for a while. I had never, ever in my 31 years of age cared about either subject. My perspective about money was that of something that was too hard to get and keep!
Holding My Breath
Jun 22, 2005Well, it’s been a while since I wrote anything here (or any where for that matter). Besides being busy with my daughter being sick all last week, there was a major reason for my absence: Last Friday I was phone interviewed for a job at `Microsoft <http://www.microsoft.com>`__ and afraid I’d jinx myself by telling anyone, I refrained from blogging. I’d say the interview went very well but in the end I don’t think I had everything the position required.
College Diplomacy

It Was A Fix
Jun 14, 2005You are Windows 95. You look better than your older brother, but your communication skills are still lacking. You start well, but often zone out. Which OS are You?
Someone will pay for this! =)
