I took advantage of an unexpected break I had over the weekend to create my own application to change the theme for OpenBox. Sure, I know there’s OBConf, but I wanted to write my own in python. Without further ado, I present version 0.1 of Thematographer for OpenBox! Even with the dependency on Glade, I find it to be very light and it will detect default themes installed, as well as themes installed on $HOME/.

Recebi um comentário muito importante em meu último post sobre como manter o Ubuntu atualizado com as traduções. O comentário foi do Leandro Martinez, que gentilmente me mostrou que nosso trabalho de divulgação sobre a documentação em português ainda está longe do que desejamos… Como eu trabalho junto àEquipe de Documentação do Ubuntu Brasil, sei que temos documentos de altíssimo nível, mas sem uma divulgação não vamos conseguir passar esta informação para nossos amigos da comunidade.

I’m back home, together with my wife and daughters. The two days spent in the hospital helped them (wife and baby) to recharge a bit their energies, and gave me some time to spend with my older daughter. Many were the comments and emails I received during this period, all congratulating us and wishing us well. I even received a phone call from Brazil (thanks a million Kurt Kraut)! In the name of my (now slightly bigger) family I thank each and everyone of you for the kind words!

After a very brief night of sleep (about 3 hours), Elizabeth started having contractions, strong enough for us to drive to the hospital. At around 5:18 EST our second daughter Kate Maciel was born! There were some post-partum complications and Elizabeth lost a lot of blood, but the doctors seem to have things under control now. Nothing can prepare you for the roller coaster of emotions one goes through when witnessing the birth of your child.
