It’s been a while since I last wrote about my pet project, BillReminder, a late and due bills notifier for the desktop. With the birth of my daughter Kate, and the projects I’m involved with at rPath, together with the translation of GNOME 2.18, there wasn’t much time left to do anything else. Fortunately, I had the great pleasure of adding one more developer to the project: Luiz Armesto.

Já faz um bom tempo que não escrevo nada sobre o meu programa para notificação de contas, o BillReminder. Com o nascimento da minha filha Kate, e os novos projetos que apareceram no meu trabalho na rPath, e as traduções do GNOME 2.18, não tinha sobrado muito tempo para fazer mais nada. Felizmente, tive a prazerosa inclusão de mais um desenvolvidor no BillReminder: Luiz Armesto. Depois de trocar umas idéias pelo IRC sobre o rumo que eu queria levar o projeto, o Luiz simplesmente carregou em suas costas a grande responsabilidade de re-escrever o sistema de banco de dados, para suportar uma arquitetura mais flexivel e dinâmica.

Hey Sven; Just a heads up… Giggle was packaged the very say day it was announced for Foresight and rPath Linux. :) BTW, I could not post a comment in your blog. Someone translated the messages for me and it seems to be complaining about the Reply field?

Ok, so we now have Live CDs (not VMware images… towards the end of the page) with GNOME 2.17.92 fresh out of the oven! Come and get it!!! :) The user name is Live and the password is blanked, so change it once you get a chance.

Agora voce ja' pode experimentar o GNOME 2.17.92 que eu falei antes usando QEMU, Microsoft VHD, e claro, VMware. Estas imagens serao atualizadas com muita frequencia, e se voce trabalha com traducoes ou desenvolvimento, e esta' interessado em ver seu trabalho “live” sem ter de compilar GNOME, baixe sua imagem aqui.

Ok, agora ja' temos Live CDs (nao confundir com imagens para virtualizacao tipo VMware… no final da pagina) com o GNOME 2.17.92 fresquinho do forno! :) O nome do usuario e' Live e a senha esta' em branco, portanto, mude-a assim que for possivel. E nao se esqueca de escolher Portugues do Brasil para ver o status das traducoes!

Saiu hoje pela manhã a tão esperada versão Live CD do GNOME, contendo a versão 2.17.92 do ambiente de trabalho do GNOME. Baseado no Foresight Linux, este CD impressiona bastante por conter todos os pacotes do GNOME + alguns programas adicionais, localização completa (ou seja, suporte para todos os idiomas que foram traduzidos, incluindo o português do Brasil), e tudo isso em uma imagem ISO de somente 490 MB!
