About today’s outburst, I have the following to say: The GNOME Foundation has established a democratic process by which its members and directions can be chosen. If a process or person has not delivered that which was agreed upon or expected (due to a role), that is the price one pays for democracy. Please, let us not lose out cool and take advantage of the system to do what is right for the Foundation.
This last week has been but a blur to me due to the holidays (Thanksgiving here in the US) and my house being full of relatives who came to visit from upstate New York. With the exception of a patch I sent (and committed by Jonh, thanks!) to bugzilla, my time was spent doing the following: Following and answering the questions that were asked for those running for the GNOME Board of Directors (I’m one of them).
So yesterday I finally managed to find some time to send in my application to run for the GNOME Board of Directors. Now back to your regular program…
As I mentioned in my previous post, I decided to give KDE a chance on my home system. For the last 5 days I’ve been neck deep in KDE land, with some fairly minor trips to non-KDE applications when I can’t figure out how to get something done (more on the soon). The first step was to download the brand spanking alpha ISO for Foresight Linux KDE Edition (x86 here and x86_64 here) and bring it home.
Weekend Update
Nov 10, 2007
A couple of updates before heading out to the weekend: Been working hard together with Fábio Nogueira on the XFCE translations before the eminent 4.4.2 release. Things are looking really good! Tonight I was feeling a bit adventurous and took the pre-alpha Foresight 2.0 KDE Edition and installed it at home. Like I said, I was really feeling adventurous and installed the x86_64 bit version too, and so far everything looks good!
