Every now and then I learn a new trick and I figured I’d share them here, as well as make sure I can always search for them later (talk about killing 2 birds with a stone!). The first one if is for those times you want to make a generic search and replace action on a file you’re working on.

That is, Missing In Action / Prisoner Of WORK! Here at rPath we work based on iteration periods that could vary between 4 - 6 weeks. During these periods, we are all assigned (or loaded as we say) several hours of issues to work on plus whatever may come up during the course of the iteration. I was extremely pleased to see my application for the GNOME Foundation approved. I have spent the last 9 months working very closely with the localization teams, making sure all work being done by the Ubuntu Brazilian team is submitted upstream first for all GNOME packages! I’ve also been very vocal about a unified Brazilian localization team, completely distro independent. I want to thank all of those who put in a good word for me.

Gostaria de apresentar meu novo “amigo” NTrunko, meu Nokia N800 tablet! Ele chegou em casa pelo correio na terça-feira, graças àum amigo e o pessoal da Nokia e Maemo! Passei uma boa parte da noite brincando com ele, e estou COMPLETAMENTE maravilhado com os recursos e potencial deste “brinquedo”! Este artigo, por exemplo foi escrito nele usando o Maemo WordPy. Eu até mesmo conectei no meu PC de casa usando ssh!

Say hello to my little friend NTrunko, my Nokia N800 tablet! It arrived yesterday at my housee, thanks to a good friend and the good folks at Nokia and Maemo! I’ve spent a good chunk of last night playing with it and am COMPLETELY amazed with the quality and potential it has to offer! This post, for instance, is being written using Maemo WordPy. I even connected home via ssh!

Had a really nice surprise waiting for me today at work in the form of an envelope covered with Brazilian postal stamps. It was a gift from my friend Vladimir Melo, who saw an article written about the package management system Conary, product from the company I work for. There was also another article talking about the GNOME 2.18 release and the fact that it was completely translated to the Brazilian Portuguese language, thanks to the collaborative work of 16 people.

Hoje tive a bela surpresa de receber um envelope com postagem Brasileira. Foi um presente do meu amigo Vladimir Melo, que tinha visto os artigos sobre o gerenciador de pacotes Conary, produto criado aqui onde trabalho. Tinha também um artigo sobre o lançamento do GNOME 2.18 e o fato dele estar todo traduzido para o Português Brasileiro devido ao trabalho de 16 tradutores… Como eu fui um deles, foi bacana ver nosso trabalho sendo anunciado assim.
