Close Call
May 03, 2005
Not in a blogging mood today… Got home last night at 9:30pm(!!!) and checked my messages: 1 new message! An old girl-friend crying and mumbbling about her sister (also an old good friend) having an accident… broken up telephone number to call back (she must have called from a cell phone… had to rewind message 2 times… Call number and a guy answers… After introductions (“Hi, I’m an old friend of such and such…") learn that the sister had apparently “thrown herself out the window of her second floor apartment.
I just had to get this off my chest! I have read a few “reviews” for The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and am very annoyed by what everyone is saying. I’d say that 5% of these so called reviews say that nobody should see it due to its deviations from the original book, how they Hollywood-ed the plot by adding a romance, yadda, yadda… And I kept thinking: “So what the movie is not a transcription from book?
RssReader.NET
May 02, 2005
Been spending some time using the RSS.NET library ("RSS.NET is an open-source .NET class library for RSS feeds. It provides a reusable object model for parsing and writing RSS feeds. It is fully compatible with RSS versions 0.90, 0.91, 0.92, and 2.0.1, implementing all constructs." and decided to create my own Rss reader. It still has a long way to go but it is in a semi-usefull state. I know there’s a million rss readers out there but if anyone is interested in working on this with me just drop me a line.
Last night I decided to work on my plan of racking up World of Warcraft hours in order to beef up my character but since my friend Vinny was busy with his own quests, I decided to try my newly learned skill: fishing! As stupid as this may sound, I never thought that fishing in a game could be so… relaxing! I switched my character’s sword for a fishing pole and spent a good 15 minutes casting the line and watching the bobber.
Too Mathematical
Apr 29, 2005
Your brain: 60% interpersonal, 60% visual, 100% verbal, and 180% mathematical! Congratulations on being 400% smart! Actually, on my test, everyone is. The above score breaks down what kind of thinking you most enjoy doing. A score above 100% means you use that kind of thinking more than average, and a score below 100% means you use it less. It says nothing about how good you are at any one, just how interested you are in each, relatively.
Using Audioscrobbler
Apr 29, 2005
Read some posts of people talking about Audioscrobbler today and decided to see what the noise was all about. Audioscrobbler builds a profile of your musical taste using a plugin for your media player (Winamp, iTunes, XMMS, foobar2000, etc..). Plugins send the name of every song you play to the Audioscrobbler server, which updates your musical profile with the new song. Every person with a plugin has their own page on this site which shows their listening statistics.
