This was a pretty intense week at work, but I managed to balance it out with intentional time at home with my family. I maintained my gym routine every morning and continued my reading streak, now at 2,134 days.

Week 40 Review

Monday

Monday was packed with meetings, including a scheduling mishap where two meetings with the same invite list were double-booked. “We joined one for 15 minutes, then dropped into the other while everyone else waited for us.”

Tuesday

Tuesday involved some tension and miscommunications, leading to uncomfortable conversations. This inspired a post titled “Oops… Did I Really Say That?” and prompted reflection on his professional path.

Wednesday

Highlight was date night with his wife, a tradition started over a year ago. They planned the week’s activities, including Game Night and dinner plans. Work was steady, with preparations for the next sprint and recognition of overcommitment.

Thursday

Sprint planning day involved negotiating tasks and setting an ambitious plan. “After an hour of discussion, the team settled on an ambitious plan with zero flexibility.” Game Night was a success with sushi, dumplings, and bao buns.

Friday

Friday was the calmest day, allowing time for people-management tasks and catching up with old colleagues. Dinner plans changed when his father-in-law brought pork ribs, leading to a relaxed evening watching TV.

Looking Ahead

Next week will be busy with one-on-one meetings and performance reviews. He hopes for a quiet weekend but remains skeptical.
